Quarters Coin Auctions
For the US quarters, you can find a lot of collectible items such as the Washington Quarters copper-nickel clad series which was made in 1965. It is pretty interesting that these coins were not stamped with denominations by the Denver and the San Francisco mints from 1965 to 1967.
This was an economical purpose since the US Government was losing money due to the production of the silver coins. In 1999, commemorative quarters were made with the Washington obverse (head) and the reverse modified for each of the 50 states. These are valuable collectible items since the regular 50 states quarter has been stopped from production.
The basic trick to be a good coin collector is finding opportunities to get coins which in a few years will appreciate in value, like the 50 State Quarters being a sure one. Some however find it important to choose coins for their historical as well as aesthetic value over their economic significance.
