Coins circulating in the US are usually placed in rolls before they are circulated to the general public. It would depend on what type of coin and how many. For example, cent and dime rolls have 50 coins in one roll while nickel and quarter rolls have 40 coins.
Half dollar rolls have 20 coins and a dollar roll, 25 coins. Half rolls have, of course, half the number of coins of the specific denomination. A double “shotgun” roll will have twice as many coins.
Collectors often purchase rolls of coins from banks for their collection. Most banks, through their customer service departments can provide you with your request of coin rolls. But you have to make sure not to request a huge amount in coins because they might not approve your request.
You can also trade with other collectors for rolls and some sites, like eBay have rolls that are being sold or auctioned. Again, the quality of the rolls should be high priority, so make sure they are in mint condition. The price you will be paying will depend on the supply and demand from both the sellers and buyers and also on the number of rolls that you want. Sacagawea Dollar rolls are very much in demand and are considered collector items.
