Louisa Adams First Spouse Gold Coin Auctions
The Louisa Adams is the sixth release of First Spouse Gold Coin series honoring the President's spouses and the 2nd release for 2008. The coins were released on May 29, 2008.
The obverse portrays Louisa Adams who served as First Lady from 1825 to 1829 during the Presidency of her husband John Quincy Adams. The obverse which was designed by Susan Gamble and sculpted by Phebe Hemphill, bears several inscriptions including the “Louisa Adams”, “In God We Trust”, “Liberty”, the order of the Presidency “6th”, the dates of the Presidential term “1825-1829″, and the date and mint mark “2008 W”.
